Role & responsibilities

You handle engineering of cable and pipeline systems, prepare calculations and tender analyses, determine material needs and labour estimates, plan technical activities, arrange permits, perform route studies, propose execution solutions and maintain contact with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

Organisation

For the municipality of Amsterdam we are looking for a Cables & Pipelines specialist. The city’s underground is scarce, and the municipality wants to steer good layout and use through the WIOR ordinance. A role in which you connect grid operators, urban designers, area managers and project leaders.

Role & responsibilities

As a Cables & Pipelines specialist you assess routing requests from grid operators, work planners, designers and contractors. You look for joint-use solutions, consult asset managers and ensure objections are handled properly. You also contribute to the WIOR process, the system (VICTOR) and internal collaboration. Spatial integration of above-ground utility services and removal of decommissioned pipelines also fall within your remit.

Requirements

• HBO (applied university) level, preferably Civil Engineering
• Experience with the ordering of underground cables and pipelines
• Familiar with the NEN 7171-1 and NEN 7171-2 ordering principles
• Experience within complex organisations

Organisation

Role & responsibilities

You work on new builds, renovations and reinforcements. From preliminary design to execution design — after which your role shifts to work-planner: material supply, permit process and execution support. On hand-over you ensure good as-built records in the asset-management system.

Requirements

• MBO working and thinking level, civil-engineering or infrastructure knowledge
• Knowledge of water-mains technology, network calculations, strength calculations (SCHRIJVERS)

Organisation

The energy transition puts grid companies under significant adaptation pressure: houses and neighbourhoods going off gas, mass feed-in from solar panels. You will work in the connections & replacements department of our client.

Role & responsibilities

As a detail engineer you are responsible for determining the routing and elaborating a Detailed Design (DO). For execution you make working drawings in AutoCAD (and soon Electric Office after BMR introduction). You enrich asset data, do legal route research, commission environmental scans and check permits. You manage the engineering process, steer external parties and monitor progress.

• MBO in electrical engineering, energy engineering, civil engineering or similar
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in energy / civil engineering / underground infra

At a grid operator you work within the Net-driven team (connections and replacements). The team focuses on project-based improvement and expansion of the existing network.

As a project coordinator you steer execution. You handle execution coordination and capacity planning, monitor progress and steer firmly on lead time, quality and customer satisfaction. You are the linking pin with chain partners such as contractors and internal departments (e.g. Asset Management). The role demands strong administrative/organisational skills as well as technical affinity with gas or electricity.

Role & responsibilities

As Project Engineer Electrical you are responsible for the construction and reconfiguration of LV/MV electrical projects. You design from a programme of requirements, survey before and during execution, determine the preliminary design (routing), make pre- and post-calculations and cable calculations, draw materials (SAP), align with internal and external parties and provide aftercare. Approximately 50% organisational / 50% technical.

Requirements

• MBO/MBO+/HBO in Electrical or Energy Engineering
• Experience with or affinity for MV/LV (a plus)
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn underground infra
• Affinity with energy distribution
• Experience working project-based — telecom/installation-engineering backgrounds also welcome

You manage the process with external stakeholders (stakeholder management) and at critical moments are the contact point for advisory firms, contractors and permit authorities. As-built data is recorded in the asset-management system.
